Since 2000, when Horizon Research Foundation was established from IANDS (UK) it has run entirely with the support of volunteers. Between 2000 and 2003 we had established a membership scheme with over 100 members who would receive regular newsletters as well as discounts to events. Almost all of the administration for this charity was dealt with by Heather Sloan, who also worked full time. Due to a combination of the growth of horizon as well as a change in Heather's own personal circumstances, as well as my own personal and work circumstances, together with very limited resources we were unable to continue the membership scheme beyond 2003. We hope that in the meantime we can provide a comprehensive web based resource centre.
As well as Heather Sloan, the rest of our team of volunteers in the past included Cassie Wilcox, a very creative writer who helped with the production of our newsletters, Giti Amirani, a young dynamic Oxford graduate with excellent experience of working with charities, who did an amazing job with organising events as well as public relations, and also Brenda North, who worked with the pharmaceutical industry. They all helped tremendously and worked tirelessly with affection and enthusiasm. A really great team. To this day Fariborz Peyman from Notting Hill Web Design has kindly helped with our website.
