In line with Horizon Research Foundation’s focus on scientific research and understanding into the state of the human mind at the end of life, in this section you will find links to conferences and symposia on consciousness, the mind-body problem and near death experiences. Speakers’ backgrounds can vary significantly depending on the event, ranging from neuroscience, psychology, intensive care medicine, cardiology, cognitive sciences, physical and biological sciences etc… Despite the current prevalence of materialistic or reductionistic (non-dualistic) theories versus non-materialistic (dualistic) ones, we will provide equal coverage of events discussing both since no theory has currently been proved right, through scientific research.
